Opal Arlene Williams

Opal Arlene Williams, 88, of Hanover, Virginia, passed away on October 29, 2026. Born and raised in West Virginia, Opal carried a lifelong love for her home state, nature, and the simple things in life.

Above all, Opal was devoted to her family. She showed her love through her time, care, and the things she did for those around her. Whether preparing a meal, tending her garden, quilting, or simply spending time together, she made sure her family knew they were loved. Her home and table were always welcoming, and there was always room for one more.

Opal had a special love for the outdoors, especially birds, flowers, and gardening. She had a remarkable gift for growing just about anything. Her faith in the Lord was also an important part of her life.

Opal is survived by her children, Randy, Kathy (Kenny), and Rodney (Geannette); her grandchildren, Tracy (Mike), Kristen (Kevin), Kevin, Christopher, and Shawn; and her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Camden, Charlotte, and Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Teresa.

Visitation will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia, on Tuesday, November 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for family and friends to remember and celebrate a beautiful life. A small, private graveside service will take place the following day, Wednesday, November 4.

Opal will be remembered for her love of family, her generous spirit, her green thumb, and the many ways she made others feel at home. She leaves behind a family who will carry on the love and traditions she so generously shared.
