Nora Jean "Jeani" Thompson, 61, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026.

Born on January 22, 1965, in South Hill, Virginia, Jeani lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and devotion to her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Luvenia Clark Thompson Howell and Robert M. Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved stepfather, Joseph Howell.

For more than 32 years, Jeani shared her life with her devoted partner, Herman David Parsons. Together they built a life centered on love, companionship, and family. Though not related by blood, Jeani lovingly embraced Dave's children and grandchildren as her own, and they held a special place in her heart throughout her life.

A woman of Baptist faith, Jeani found joy in gardening, caring for animals, and spending time with those she loved. She was known for her kindness, unwavering honesty, wonderful sense of humor, and a laugh that could brighten any room. Her compassionate heart, gentle spirit, and loyal nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving partner, Herman David Parsons; her sister, Sandra King; her aunt, Francis Clark; her niece, Amanda Brady, her husband, Jason, and their children, Regan and Riley; her niece, Jessica Clark, her husband, Travis, and their children, Colton, Connor, Lilah, Lydia, and Harvey; and her nephew, Robert King, his wife, Sarah, and their children, Natalie, Lindsey, and Charlie.

She is also survived by several beloved cousins, as well as her extended family whom she loved as her own: Susan Renee Smick and her husband, Steve; their daughters, Mandee Aquino and her husband, Anthony Aquino, and Julie Leake and her husband, Josh Leake; Shannon Adams and her husband, Richard; and Paxton Parsons and his wife, Mindy.

Jeani was further blessed with a large and loving extended family including Brendon Farmer, Bryce Aquino, Sophie Aquino, Lydia Leake, Lyle Leake, Brittiny Upchurch and her husband, Clay, Piper Victoria Adams, Ryanne Adams, Paxton Parsons, Jr., Alex Parsons, Rachael Parsons, and Emili Parsons.

Jeani will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her love of animals, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A family viewing will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Chester, Virginia. Friends and the public are invited to attend visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A graveside service and burial will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in North Chesterfield, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jeani's memory to the Humane Society or another animal welfare organization, reflecting her lifelong love and compassion for animals.

Though she has departed this earthly life, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends forever.
