Nannie G. Buffalow, 84, of Dinwiddie, VA, crossed over the great divide into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, June 9, 2025. Born in Tazewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Arminta Bandy. Nannie was a devoted wife for 55 years to the late Roger E. Buffalow, Sr. Nannie is preceded in death by two sisters, Dora Bowman and Ruth Garrett; and four brothers, Thomas Bandy, William Bandy, Walter Bandy, and John Bandy.
Nannie is survived by three children, Kerry Shell (Michael), Tracy Flores (Manuel), and Roger Buffalow, Jr. (Kimberly); four grandchildren, Cynthia Neal, Bryan Buffalow (Alexis), Kayla Buffalow, and Austin Buffalow; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Neal, Mason Buffalow, Caden Buffalow, and Shelby Jean Buffalow; one great-great-grandchild on the way; one sister, Dorothy Thomas; four brothers, Charlie Bandy, Steve Bandy (Susan), Lake Bandy (Linda), and Philip Bandy (Rhonda); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Nannie retired from Winn-Dixie and the Dinwiddie County Public Schools. She attended Faith Heritage Church and worked as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society/Dinwiddie Relay for Life. Nannie was always willing to lend help where it was needed. Nannie's pride, joy and great love was her family. Nannie had a great love for people, sometimes being mother and grandmother to anyone who needed one. Nannie always had a big beautiful smile that lit up the room. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to all.
A visitation for Nannie will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, at 3050 West Hundred Road, Chester, VA, 23831, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, beginning at 12 noon. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on the same day, conducted by Pastor Joyce Everhart-Varga, of Faith Heritage Church. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. Repast reception will be held at the home of Roger Buffalow, Jr., at 1032 Germar Ct, Colonial Heights, VA, 23834, immediately following the graveside service.
