The world just got a little less vibrant and a whole lot quieter. On July 16, 2026, the one and only Nancy Lee Bland (Tuck), affectionately known to all as "Hot Nancy," decided her work here was done. She was 86, though she'd probably tell you she was a timeless 29.
Born on February 13, 1940, Nancy was a free spirit from the very beginning. She didn't just walk through life; she danced, hustled, and paraded through it entirely on her own terms.
Nancy's philosophy was simple: party hard, laugh loud, and love even harder. When music played, there was no stopping her. She hit the dance floor and jitterbugged like she was the undisputed Jitterbug Champion of the World. Her legendary fun streak was unmatched, perhaps best proven the night she took home first place at a costume contest dressed as a giant bag of jellybeans at her favorite spot, Sandy's.
Preceded in death by both her children, Billy & Dee, she leaves behind a family tasked with keeping her rebellious, fun-loving spirit alive, including her beloved sister, Brenda Tucker; her cherished grandchildren, Candice and Dani; her adored great-granddaughter, Sarah; and a wonderful, chaotic army of multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews who will forever miss her wild advice and contagious laugh.
Nancy had a flair for the dramatic. She would want everyone crying over her while raising a glass at their "Sandy's", dancing a little too fast, and doing something a little bit reckless in her honor.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Rest in peace, Hot Nancy. The afterlife better get ready for you.
