Nadine Smith Kokinski

Nadine Smith Kokinski, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was a longtime resident of Hopewell, Virginia, and in later life, Deltaville, Virginia.

Nadine was the daughter of Ruth and Clyde Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Kokinski; and her precious yorkie, Mitzi.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanine Gilmore and Sherri Bartlett; sister, Anne Grinnell; niece, Tonya Hoover; grandson, Chris Gilmore; and great-grandson, Cameron Newsome (Lanie).

During her lifetime she had many interests. She worked as a nurse for Hopewell OB/GYN, and as a master gardener as she designed flowers for a local florist. She was also a member of the Woman's Club, Red Hat Society, and "Jaycetts." As a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hopewell, she served for many years as altar guild chairperson.

The family would like to thank At Home Care & Hospice, as well as Brighter Living Memory Care, for their loving support and care of Nadine.

There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to St. John's Episcopal Church, 505 Cedar Ln., Hopewell, VA 23860.
