Miron Michael Mihalcoe

Miron "Hochie" Mihalcoe, 91, of Prince George, VA, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born in New Kent County, VA, he was the son of the late John and Emily P. Mihalcoe. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew Mihalcoe, Charles Mihalcoe and John Mihalcoe, Jr.; and his sister, Helen M. Carlyle.

Miron was a 1955 graduate of New Kent High School and joined the United States Army shortly thereafter. Following his military service, he became a general mechanic and a carpenter for many years. Miron was a member of the County Line Hunt Club and was a prolific hunter of deer, turkey, duck, squirrel, and goose. He loved the outdoors, and when he wasn't hunting, he could be found fishing or gardening. You may have enjoyed vegetables from his garden, as his kindness extended to sharing his bounty with the community he loved. Above all, Miron was a dedicated family man. He was the most amazing, most devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Miron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dyanne S. Mihalcoe; his son, Miron "Mickey" Mihalcoe, Jr.; his daughter, Teresa Fields and husband, Michael "Mike" Fields; his granddaughter, Crystal Fields; and his sister, Shirley M. Johnson and husband, Boyd Johnson.

The family will accept friends on Thursday, April 9, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial for Miron will be held at 10:00am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 9300 Community Lane, South Prince George, VA, 23805, with the Rosary beginning at 9:30am. Interment at the church cemetery will immediately follow.
