Mildred Ann Knowling

Mildred Ann Landen Knowling, age 72, of South Chesterfield, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. Born July 15, 1940 in Dinwiddie County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse William and Ruby Peace Landen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three of her sisters, Mollie L. Belcher, Margaret L. Hoylman and Carolyn L. Joyner; and her first husband, Frank Peters, Jr. Mrs. Knowling retired from Titmus Optical in 2004, after 41 years of service. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lucky Knowling; son, Frank R. Peters; grandson, William Hunter Peters; four sisters, Mary L. Belcher, Joyce L. Waddell, Ruth L. Hathcock, and Linda “Penny” L. Vance; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Matoaca United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Matoaca UMC Building Fund, 6301 River Road, S. Chesterfield, VA 23803.
