Micheal Scott Shelton

Micheal Scott Shelton, lovingly known as Scott, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2026, with his devoted wife, Teresa, by his side. He was 62 years old.

Born on October 22, 1963, to Roland Lee Shelton and Wanda Jean Keyes Shelton, Scott spent his childhood growing up in Lake Wales, Florida. Throughout his life, he was known for his creative spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family.

Scott found joy in creating art, listening to music, and playing his guitar. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially grilling for family and friends and going fishing whenever he had the chance. Whether sharing a Sunday dinner with his family or strumming a favorite song, Scott appreciated life's simple blessings. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with those he loved. His family was the center of his world, and the love he gave them will remain his greatest legacy.

Scott shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Teresa. Their marriage was built on faith, friendship, laughter, and unconditional love. Through every season of life, they stood by one another, and it was with Teresa holding his hand that Scott peacefully entered eternal rest.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Lee Shelton and Wanda Jean Keyes Shelton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Teresa Shelton; his brothers, Terry Shelton and Shannon Shelton; his sisters-in-law, Tammi Friesen (Matt) and Terri Taylor (Mike); his bonus brothers, Scott Nichols and Glenn Rose; his mother-in-law, Ruth Korkos (John); and his father-in-law, Gerald Coffman (Nita).

He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews, Matthew (Corri) Shelton, Colby Shelton (Jade), Sherry Shelton, Ashley Rice (Eric), and Michael Taylor (Season); as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews, Hailey, James, Gracelyn, and Gavin, all of whom brought him great joy.

Scott will be remembered for his gentle spirit, artistic talent, quiet strength, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to comfort those who knew and loved him. While his presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the music he played, the artwork he created, and the example he set will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A funeral service for Scott will be held at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Scott's life was one filled with love, creativity, and devotion to those he cherished most. His memory will forever be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
