Melissa Gayle Marshall Shanahan

Melissa Gayle Marshall Shanahan, 30, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. She was a graduate of Hopewell High School Class of 2004. Melissa was a member of Jobs Daughters International, Bethel # 24. She was a daughter, mother, sister and friend who never met a stranger. She will be missed by her family and friends. Melissa is survived by her paternal grandparents, John W. and Jackie H. Marshall; father, Steven Craig Marshall and his wife, Rita Dean Marshall; mother, Petra Stroud Marshall and her boyfriend, Timmy Bishop; daughter, Madison Rose Shanahan; son, Carter Ryan Shanahan; siblings, Shannon Marie Marshall, Michael James Marshall, Jonathan Stroud, Julie Bishop, Kaleah D. Smith, and Krystal G. Dean; uncles, John W. Marshall, III. and his wife, Debbie Marshall, Mark W. Marshall, Sr., Michael W. Marshall, and Butch Stroud; aunt, Lorie Edmonds; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
