Meldena Rose Moore

Meldena Rose Moore, age 78, of Chester, VA, passed from this world February 16, 2026. The daughter of the late Alberta Mae Moore (March 1, 1988) and Richard Moore (Aug 30, 1976), she spent her early years in Kansas City, Kansas, where she graduated from Wyandotte High School.

Dena will be missed but remembered through our smiles, laughter, and tears. She was a quiet, giving soul, always serving and taking care of others.

Dena loved cruising the Southern Caribbean Islands. She spent hours watching and re-watching old westerns and war movies. Her favorite pastime was to read and re-read - almost memorizing - mystery novels by James Patterson.

Meldena is survived by her sole remaining sister, Marilyn Moore, of Chester, VA. Her other sisters, Marva Lee Neff, of Omaha, NE and Jacqueline Joyce Coonfield, of Kansas City, KS preceded her in death. Other family include: nieces, Candice Blackman (Kansas City, KS) and Terrilyn Koetting (Kansas City, MO), and Marva's children: nephew, James Neff, and three nieces in Omaha, NE, Denise, Deborah, and Diane. Her sister and her very special friends in Hopewell, VA, coworker, Linda Charles and her daughters, Nicole and Ericka, along with childhood school friend, Twila Jones in Kansas City, KS, will miss her most of all.
