Melanie K. Benton-Martin

Melanie K. Benton-Martin of Chester passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. and Sigrid H. Benton; as well as her paternal grandparents, Henry L. and Onyx C. Benton of Chester.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sarah E. Martin; her sister, Christana (CJ) Benton; brother, Ben Clary (Christine); and second mom, Joan Benton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Melanie graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 1993. She served in the U. S. Army for six years where she earned her certifications in computer science. She was also a graduate of Bryant & Stratton College.

She was very proud to be employed by Timmons Group as a Systems Engineer.

She was an avid equestrian and had many friends in her horse community.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 3 pm until 5 pm at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
