Maureen Beasley Cardwell, 93, passed on to join loving family in heaven on July 22, 2026.
Born in Petersburg, VA, on May 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Marshall & Myrtie Beasley.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Alfred "Al" Cardwell, and loving family: son Raymond Alfred "Al Jr" Cardwell Jr; siblings Arlene Umstead & Marshall Beasley; grandson Russell "Rusty" Mack; daughter-in-law Katrina Cardwell; and special cousin Nancy Valenta.
Maureen loved music, singing, dancing, baseball games, her flower gardens, cooking, and the Outer Banks. She was always happiest being with family and loved cooking Sunday & holiday meals.
She spent most of her last years at Brighter Living Assisted Living where she enjoyed crafts, bingo, cards, and all the musical entertainment, often singing along. She loved all her friends there, and the staff who took such good care of her-who the family would like to thank.
A thank you also to Tyler's Retreat & staff for making her transition there easy and for their love and great care these last couple of years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Sharon Pearson (Billy) & Carol Clayton; sons Ron Cardwell & Charles Cardwell (Belinda); grandsons Justin Pearson, Sean Voigt (Katherine), Brandon Cardwell (Kaycee), Jeremy Cardwell, & Noah Cardwell; great-grandson Dylan Voigt; great-granddaughter Ayla Voigt; daughter-in-law Karen Cardwell; and loving nieces, nephews & friends.
A graveside service will be held Thursday July 30th, 10:00am, at Southlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
