Mary Clary Wood

Mary Clary Wood, 99, of Prince George, VA, passed away on June 23, 2026. Born and raised in Prince George, VA, she was a graduate of Disputanta High School and made a career as a social worker in Prince George County, VA.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jordan Edward Wood; siblings Thomas Fenner Clary, Jr., Evelyn Clark, and Grayson Clary; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Wood. Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Thomas J. Wood, Robert E. Wood (Ann), The Reverend Stuart C. Wood; grandchildren, Jonathan Wood, Benjamin Wood, Daniel Wood, Clary Linkous, and Jordan Anson Wood; brother, Beverly Thornton Clary; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mary found joy in card games, jigsaw puzzles, and volunteering at the Petersburg General Hospital. Mary was an honorary member of the Chippoax Hunt Club, where she enjoyed fishing.

A funeral will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Gary's United Methodist Church. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
