Mary Poust Storey

Mary Poust Storey, 98 of Whiting, NJ, passed away December 2, 2025. Born in New York City, she was raised in Denville, NJ and graduated from Boonton (NJ) High School, class of 1944. Mary received her teaching certificate from Montclair (NJ) State Teachers College in 1949 and subsequently taught at New Jersey elementary schools in Bedminster, Rockaway Borough, and Township for many years. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Raymond. 

She is survived by two sons, Richard, of Prince George, Virginia, and Ralph, of Springville, Tennessee. She was a devoted wife and mother, and also a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. After retiring, Mary volunteered at local schools helping special needs students. She and her husband, Raymond, enjoyed their later years, traveling the world, to include China, Scandinavia, and even the Galápagos Islands! 

A service for family and close friends will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Steven's Episcopal Church, 180 County Road 539, Whiting, NJ 08759. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Amelia Virginia Veterans Cemetery Columbarium.
