Mary Lee Miller

Mary Lee Miller, 70, of Colonial Heights, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Born and raised in Hopewell, Mary was the daughter of the late Hursey Newton Miller and Vergil Holcomb Miller. She was a 1972 graduate of Hopewell High School and retired from Ft. Lee Food Service after 46 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Elder and Ella McLean; brother, Cecil Miller; brother-in-law, Bubba Brooks; and nephews, Bobby Elder and Chris Buker. She is survived by her siblings, Doris Brooks, George Miller (Wanda), Virginia Conner (Larry), Betty Buker (Glenn), and Harriet Frenier (Kenny); nieces and nephews, Leslie Rogers (Phillip), Cathy Edmonds (Chuck), Dale Conner Jr (Ann), Angela Miller, Melissa Miller, Dale Dereski (Audra), Michael Conner, Jimmy Conner, and Lauren Miller; great-nieces and nephews, Morgan Hall, Cody Elder, Dale Conner III, Mckenzie Dereski, Payton Dereski, Griffin Rogers, Owen Rogers, Austin Edmonds, and Lucas Hall; as well as many other family members and friends. Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, and a loving aunt to all of her niece and nephews. The family will be holding a private memorial service.
