Mary Cerny Finney

Mary Cerny Finney, 73, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. Cerny, Sr.; and was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul W. Cerny, Jr.; and a nephew, Paul "Tripp" W. Cerney III. Mrs. Finney retired from the United States Postal Service, as the Postmaster for Prince George County, after 30 plus years of dedicated service. She and other family members worked together managing over 20 rental properties in Prince George. Mrs. Finney grew up working on the family farm that remains active in her family still today. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Patrick Finney; three children, Sean Finney and wife, Jessica, Tricia Vlkojan and husband, Matt, and Diana Hall and husband, Drew; eight grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Addyson, Austin, Payton, Hayden, Ellie, Bennett, and Caroline; her mother, Emily Uhrich Cerny; two sisters, Joyce Specter and Jackie Cerny O'Hare; her sister-in-law, Tammy Cerny; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mary Finney.
