Mary Catherine â??Cathieâ? Schlotman, age 67, of Midlothian, VA, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was born in Cherry Pointe, NC, the daughter of the late Harold W. and Mary Childress Bell. Cathie was also preceded in death by her husband, Elvin H. Schlotman, and brother-in-law, Phil. She grew up learning many forms of dance and worked teaching ballroom dancing. Cathie retired after 16 years of service in the airline industry, working as a flight attendant, ground hostess, and flight attendant supervisor. She also owned and operated a lake resort in Minnesota. Mrs. Schlotman then graduated Suma Cumulate and received acknowledgement in the whoâ??s who book as a top ten graduate for her bachelorâ??s degree. After moving to Virginia she worked in the mortgage industry before working with the Jonathan Law Firms of Fairfax, VA, and with Richard J. Colten Law Firm as a paralegal. Catherine also enjoyed and was very accomplished at hand sewn gifts, crochets, and embroidery. She is survived by her five loving sisters, Jackie, Gerie, Mimi, Janine, and Jo; four brother-in-laws, Fred, Doug, David, and Mike; and countless numbers of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will follow on Tuesday, February 22, at 11 a.m. in the St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Road, Richmond, VA 23237.
