Mary Louise Cadger

Mary Louise Cadger, 92, formerly of Hopewell, VA, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2024, and was reunited in Heaven with her parents and siblings. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Kate Cadger, formerly of Aberdeenshire, Scotland; and was the sister to Julian Cadger, Gladys Cadger Mullett, Phyliss Cadger Swing, and Shirley Cadger Robinson. Mary was born, raised and lived nearly all her life in Hopewell, although her last several years were spent in North Carolina to be closer to family there.

Mary graduated from Hopewell High School, and was a dedicated employee of Dupont Spruance Plant, in Richmond, for over 50 years, until she retired. She touched many lives throughout her long career and formed lasting friendships along the way, remaining close with special friends, Ben and Karen Jones, long after her retirement. Mary liked to travel in her early years, loved to shop for stylish clothes, and meet friends at Red Lobster for lunch. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage, but above all else, Mary cherished her friends and family who gave her great joy and happiness.

Mary's life was filled with love, laughter, determination, and cherished moments; and her independent spirit will continue to inspire all of us who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings; and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She shared a close special bond with nieces, Karen and Valerie; great-niece, Kayte and her husband, Brian, and their children, Theodore and Sebastian. A private graveside service by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home will be at Appomattox Cemetery.
