Martin Wade Jacobs

May 31, 1960 — February 11, 2026

Martin "Marty" Wade Jacobs, 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He is preceded in death by his father, George Jacobs; and his son, Travis Jacobs. He graduated from Hopewell HS Class of 1978. Due to his smart planning, he retired at 48 from Philip-Morris. A hunter in his youth, he went boating in the Appomattox for many years. He was a good friend who spent a lot of time with his friends at the bar. He liked to know about the history of the world, not just living in the moment but understanding how it came to be. He was a jokester, a jolly man, and the life of any party. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Shelby and Salem, and was an avid fan of Disney. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Tammy Jacobs; his granddaughter, Shelby Jacobs, and her partner, Alex; his great-grandson, Salem Jacobs; and his mother, Eileen Didion (Norm); his sisters, Tracy Baird (Dwayne) and Karen Frankenstein (Eddie); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens will follow after the service.
