Marjorie Fitts Emerson

Marjorie "Margie" Fitts Emerson, 98, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born to the late John and Emma Fitts in Oxford, North Carolina, on February 21, 1927. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Emerson; granddaughter, Amanda Casey; ten brothers, Arthur, James, Bernard, William, Raymond, Bobby, Oscar, Joseph, John, and Seldon; and three sisters, Gladys, Bernice, and Shirley.

She is survived by daughters, Jean Finch and Faye Opel (Eric); son, Henry Emerson, Jr. (Diane); two granddaughters, Donna Casey (Anthony) and Rebecca Hill (Rick); grandson, Edward Milton; great-grandsons, Brandon Casey, Cody Casey, Christopher Milton, Jared Milton, T.J. Milton, and Tyler Shell; great-granddaughters, Kristine Hedrick and Darby Hill; three sisters, Louise Grey (Roy), Alice Dalton (Wayne), and Kathy Hinson (David); two brothers, Wayne Fitts (Virginia) and Russell Fitts; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Margie loved being with her family. She was always there to support and help anyone that may have needed her, for any reason. She loved to always be on the go and especially loved going to the beach. She could often be found working in her yard, whether it be cutting the grass, raking leaves, or pulling weeds, and did so into her nineties. She retired from Allied Chemical after working there for 30+ years.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, with burial following the service at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends the evening before from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
