Marjorie Lester Smith Clark, 94, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on January 25, 2026. Margie was born in 1931, in Shady Spring, WV, to the late Henry Kelly and Lena Ransom Lester. After graduating high school, Margie began her career with the D.O.D, traveling extensively as a computer programmer. After her retirement, she enjoyed stained glass, treasure hunting at yard sales, crocheting, genealogical research, and spending time with her family. Margie is preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Bill, and Howard Lester; sisters, Polly Lilly, Ruby Harvey, and Regina Olmstead; first husband, James Smith; son, Gregory Smith; grandson, Stephen Smith; as well as her late husband of nearly 50 years, Albert Clark; and step-sons, David and Michael Clark. Margie is survived by daughters, Anita Long, of Chesterfield, VA and Rita (Ernie) Meador, of Shady Spring, WV; step-daughter, Lori (Jim) Schultz, of Colorado; grandchildren, Alden (Julie) Eldredge, of Chesterfield, VA, Nick Meador, Carrie (Cory) Petrey, of Shady, WV, and Matthew (Pearl) Smith, of Clearwater, FL; her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Clark, of Carthage, MS; as well as nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park located on Route 10 in Chester, VA. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Margie's family requests donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her honor, or to take flowers today to someone you love.
