Marilyn Lee Maracle, of Chesterfield County, Virginia, age 74, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Born in Rochester, New York, Marilyn later made a home in Virginia, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and creativity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and partner, Joseph Dale Maracle; siblings, Calvin Allen, Arthur Allen, Edward Allen, and Arlene (Robert) Ogie; son, Stephen; grandchildren, Dustin Brown and Freddy L. Vicars; and parents, Pauline Wayand Allen and Elwin Charles Allen.
Marilyn is survived by her loving sisters, Ellen "John" Rizzo, Evelyn Allen, and Catherine "Ronald" Calcagno; her brother, Roy Allen; her daughters, Renee Brown and Heather Maracle-Brough; her sons, David Maxwell and Luke Brown; her granddaughters, Tiffany Vicars, Brittany Vicars, and Chelsea Griffin; her great-grandchildren, Chloe Elmore, Ella Vicars, Maddi Libby, Garrett Griffin, Cameron Williamson, and Ryder Williamson; a host of nieces and nephews plus many, many dear friends whose lives were brightened by her warmth and kindness.
Marilyn had the heart of an artist. She loved crafts of all kinds and found great joy in sharing her creativity with anyone who would sit beside her, listen to her stories, and create something beautiful together. Her laughter, storytelling, and generous spirit made every gathering feel like home.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, her artistic soul, and the lasting memories she created with those she loved.
The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son.
