Marie F. Barreto

Marie F. Barreto, 87, passed away on February 27, 2026. Marie was born in Middlesex, NJ, and resided in Bridgewater, NJ. She retired from Hoechst Celanese before moving to Petersburg, VA. She worked many years at J.E.J. Moore Middle School as a lunch aide.
Marie loved being around her family and loved getting a tan while cutting grass on her ride on mover. She will be sadly missed by her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Angelo, who passed in 2013.
She is survived by her three sons, Tony Barreto (Judy), of Prince George, Thomas Barreto (Jackie), of Petersburg, and Michael Barreto, of Petersburg; and her daughter, Arlene Edwards (Thomas), of Dinwiddie. Marie also had twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Church of the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
