Margie McDowell Shreves

Margie McDowell Shreves, 79, of Chester, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Norman Shreves; her parents, Dowsey and Ruby McDowell; three brothers, Jack, Edward, and Ralph McDowell; three sisters, Evelyn McCrae, Mary Frazier, and Marie McDowell; and granddaughter, Emily Santos.

She is survived by her son, Steven and wife, Connie; daughter, Tammy and husband, William; six grandchildren, Courtney (Pat), Josue, Jacob, Joshua (Madison), Jimmy, and Rachel (Trenton); four great-grandchildren, Luke, Ava, Charlotte, and Abigail; sisters, Doris Mathieson and Joyce (John) Webb; brother, Gerald (Lydia) McDowell; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the funeral home.
