Margaret Devers Smith

Margaret "Margie" Devers Smith, 65, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Smith and Alfred Devers; and her stepson, Cody Smith. She is survived by her husband, Jamey Smith; and two sons, Michael Rieves (Heidi) and Justin Messer (Christina). Margie was a school bus driver for the City of Hopewell Public Schools for over 35 years, and was very passionate about her kids. She loved yard-saling on the weekends and enjoyed the occasional margarita from time to time. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
