Margaret Beard

Margaret Beard, 80, passed away on June 8, 2026. Margaret was born in Germany and later settled in Chester, VA, where she raised her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Morris Beard; children, Daniel & Jenny Beard, Travis & Jessica Beard, and Joe & Julie Beard; six grandchildren; and brother, Juergen & Maria Kuhnel.

Margaret cherished her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, be it on the water fishing or at home tending her garden. Margaret also loved to work with stained glass, knit, and paint. Her creative endeavors reflect her many years working as a hairstylist. She loved her calling to make the world more beautiful for her clients.

Margaret was a true light in this world and lived a life of service to all around her. She never hesitated to offer her time, talent, and kindness to all who entered her orbit, whether it be a member of the community or a four-legged friend at her volunteer job with the SPCA of Petersburg & Colonial Heights. Margaret's warm, friendly presence will be greatly missed by all.
