Malene Warthan Bennett

Malene Gracen Warthan Bennett, 86 of Hopewell passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Rufus & Mary Virginia Bishop Warthan. Malene was born on March 14, 1927 in Prince George County and has been a resident of Hopewell for the past 65 years. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hopewell where she sang in the choir. Malene is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bennett; granddaughter, Erin Rebekah Bennett McKenzie; ten brothers and sisters. Malene is survived by her sons, Richard Bennett and his wife Renee H. Bennett, Allen Bennett; twin grandsons, Ryan Deale & Sean Michael Bennett; great-grandson Austin Bryant McKenzie. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George, Va.
