Magdalene Jones

Magdalene Jones, 85, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on May 29, 2025. Born on January 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy Boyette. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Arthur Jones; her sisters, Gladys Forehand, Sarah Whistiant, Clara Mores, Marion Campbell, Doris Shields, and Elsie Johnson; her brothers, Paul Boyette and David Boyette; and two grandsons, Robert Jones, Jr. and Jason W. Jones.

Magdalene was a lifelong member of First Congregational Christian Church and a strong woman of faith. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robin Jones Mayne, Robert Jones, Thomas Jones, and George Jones, Jr.; her grandchildren, Rhonda Jones, John Jones, and William C. Jones; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Magdalene will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, at First Congregational Christian Church, with interment to follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends the night prior, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
