Lucy Hartman Clark

Lucy Hartman Clark, 93, passed away December 20, 2025 at the home of her daughter. She was born December 19, 1932, to Clayton and Winnie (Bridgewater) Hartman in Ettrick, VA, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1949 and was a member of Ettrick Baptist Church Friendship Club, Forty Niners Club, and Dancing Grannies Tap Dancers. Lucy loved the Lord first, then her family. She enjoyed low impact aerobics at the Senior Center, fishing with her son, Michael, and special trips with her niece, Linda.

In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Hurlie Howard (H.H.) Clark; sisters, Merriel and Dorothy; and brothers, Wilbur, John, Gilbert, and Richard.

Left to cherish her memory until they are reunited again include her son, Michael Clark (Mary Ellen); daughter, Jill O'Brien (Jack); son, David Clark (Kelli); grandchildren, Keith (Stephanie), Craig (Gretchen), Selena (Eric), Aaron (Jenny), Greg (Randi), Tyler (Dani), Dustin (Katie), Josh, Taylor (Sean); great-grandchildren, Alex, Vera, Ray, Desi, Greyson, Lucy, Finnegan, Gwendolyn, Beatrice, Elijah, Jordyn, Brooks, Gabe, and Leighton; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park.
