Louise Wilson Watkins passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 98 in Midlothian, VA. She was the third of five children born to Evelyn Laprade and Jerome Ayers Wilson, at Wellville, VA in Nottoway County. She was a graduate of Blackstone High School and Pan American Business School. She worked for several years as a secretary at Lawyer's Title Insurance in Richmond, VA, before her marriage to Glendon Watkins in 1948, when she moved to the Watkins family farm in Church Road, VA. She was frugal and resourceful, and her bookkeeping skills paid off as she became the unofficial CFO of the farm. Farm life suited her well as she was hardworking, reserved and introverted, preferring to be outdoors whether she was in her garden, caring for her animals, or chasing an errant cow that thought the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. She was also an excellent cook known for her homemade applesauce, rolls, buttermilk biscuits, and her personal favorite - ice cream. If anyone happened to be visiting at mealtime, they would be invited to pull up a chair to the table, and she made sure no one left hungry.
In addition to her parents; Louise was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Glendon Mayes Watkins; her sisters, Margaret Wilson Watson and Anne Wilson Houmes; and her brother, Jerome Ayers Wilson, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Watkins Seaborn (Tom), of Midlothian, VA, and Robert Wayne Watkins, of Church Road, VA; and three grandchildren, Scott Seaborn (Dianne), Stacie Seaborn Haaga (Matt), and Stephanie Seaborn Denholm (Kyle). In addition, Louise was great-grandmother to Mary Alex and Eleanor Seaborn, Jacob, Dagny, and Theodore Haaga, and Mackenzie and Hailey Denholm. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine Wilson Hiers, of Daytona Beach, FL.
No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the cemetery committee at Trinity Community Methodist Church, 4814 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833.
