Louis Edgar Hinch, Jr.

Louis Edgar Hinch, Jr., "Butch", departed his earthly home on Monday, October 27, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born June 4, 1950, in California. He resided in Colonial Heights, Virginia, for 51 years.

Butch was a devoted follower of his Lord and Savor, Jesus Christ. He was a member of The Heights Baptist Church for over 30 years. It started when he met Charlie Toombs at the Tailgate Ministries. Shortly after that, Butch was saved and began getting involved with different programs within the church. He was committed, caring, and loyal to all his family and friends.

His passions were fishing, boating, hunting, and riding his motorcycles with the Heights Motorcycle Ministries.

Butch is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Brown; father, Louis Edgar Hinch, Sr.; sons-in-law, Richard Avis Jarrett and Richmond August Wollstein; and grandsons, Richard Tyler Jarrett and Brett James Foster.

Butch is survived by his beloved wife, Nellie Carter Hinch; children, Louis Allen Hinch (Jenny), Christine Flemming (Doug), Cynthia Zocher (Clay), Glenda Carter Wollstein, Alyse Muzette Wozniak (David), Maryanne Carter Jarrett, Jewell Carter Feenstra (Michael), Bobbie Jo Miller, and Farryl Samuel Essig; grandchildren, Zachary Allen, Trevor Louis, Jesse Lee, Hunter John, Brandi Nicole, Dillan, A.J., Christopher, David, Patrick, Suni Aryn, Leslie, Austin, Evan, Becky, Stacie, Aubrii, and Caiden; great-grandchildren, Ava, Kenzlee, Lillian, Landry, Gentry James, Adam, Rihanna, Evelyn, Cartier, Olivia Grace, Isla Rose; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Butch left a lasting impression on all of our lives and was loved by everyone, he will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed.
