Lorenzo "Red" B. Harvell

Lorenzo “Red” Byrd Harvell, 88, of Petersburg died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late William and Ethel Stringer Harvell. “Red” was a member of the POGO’s and had a passion for trains. He was a lifetime member of Second Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, which he maintained the historical section and was a coordinator of the audio visual at the church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah S. Harvell; one son, William C. Harvell and one daughter, Martha E. Thompson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 15, 2013 at Second Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.
