Linda Booker

Linda Jean Booker, 71, of Petersburg, VA, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Richfield, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late James Jerome Welch and Beverlee Helmer Romine; and was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Welch. 

Linda was a dedicated employee of the Yankee Coffee Shop for over 35 years, where she was loved by all the customers and loved them as well. Mrs. Booker will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David Booker; five children, Kara Partin (Bubba), Jason Cox (Cupcake), Sue Toov (Doug), David Booker, Jr. (Shaunte), and Jewell Booker; eight grandchildren, Korey (Sadie), Kolby (Julia), Courtlyn (Will), Justin, Amanda, Sean, Ryan, and Reese; three great-grandchildren, Paul, Silas, and Sophia; two brothers, Michael Welch and Brian Welch (Kerri); and numerous other loving family members and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Linda Booker.
