Lillie Ayers Lowery

Lillie Ayers Lowery, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She lived a life grounded in faith, service, and devotion to those she loved and her lord.

Lillie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an Army and Air Force service retiree, having managed the Army Logistics Management College Bookstore at Fort Lee, Virginia.

She was a faithful and active member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, Virginia, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy C. Lowery, retired military; her daughter, Sandra A. Hanks (Jerryl); and her grandson, John D. Lowery (Beth).

She is survived by her son, Ronald E. Lowery (Patricia); three grandchildren, Tamara C. Witte (John), Christopher P. Lowery (Brandy), and William M. Lowery (Jessica); and one cherished great-grandchild, Olivia P. Lowery, all whom brought her immense joy.

Visitation will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, on January 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m., officiated by Greg Hand. Lillie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Roy C. Lowery, at Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg, Virginia.
