Lillian Archer

Lillian Ann Archer, 79 of Matoaca, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Winslow; father James Saunders; and stepfather Edward Winslow.

The consummate caregiver, Lillian (or "Ann" as she was known by family and friends.) graduated from Prince George High School and married her husband George on January 1, 1967. Ann spent much of her early life caring for her two sons as well as other children in the neighborhood. An avid reader, she could often be found at the local library picking out a few books for the week. Her love of childcare continued into later years working at the Matoaca Child Development Center and watching over her grandchildren who she adored.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Archer, Sr.; two sons, George Archer, Jr. and wife Lane, and Thomas Archer, Sr.; and four grandchildren, George Archer III, Minna Archer, Thomas Archer, Jr., and Savannah Archer.

A celebration of life service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on October 4, 2025 at 11:00 am.
