Leslie Maynard "Betsy" Booth (June 9, 1931 - May 15, 2025), was the daughter of Martha Seabury Booth Trigg and William Henry Kevan Booth, of Petersburg. Betsy graduated in 1952, from Mary Baldwin College. After teaching school in Richmond, she moved to Washington, D.C. and then New York; where she worked for Mayor John Lindsay, The Katharine Gibbs School, Tiffany & Co., and The Conference Board before returning to Petersburg to care for her brother, Johnny, in the last years of his life.
Betsy loved to cook and to travel, and was an active member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, and was active in her book study group and bridge club. In her final years, Betsy was helped by friends and neighbors, especially Susette Kearns. She was godmother to Charlie Nash, Beth Turnbull Cummings, and Ann Holden Gurkin.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Blandford Cemetery, in Petersburg, with a reception to follow at the Hotel Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Washington Street United Methodist Church or a favorite animal charity.
