Lena Evko

Lena Fernandez Evko, 93, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Ermina Fernandez; her husband, John Evko, Sr.; and her siblings, Anna Gonzalez, Mary Lombardi, and Benny Fernandez.

A resident of Dogwood Terrace, Lena was a member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge and loved to play bingo. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Lena is survived by her children, Jo Ann Dodson (John) and John Evko, Jr. (Kelly); grandchildren, Taylor Kelley (Alex) and Claire Evko; great-grandchildren, Caroline Kelley and Conrad Kelley; sister, Kathryn Kyluck; and numerous extended family members.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg, 103 S. Adams Street, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will directly follow the service at Southlawn Memorial Park.
