Larry David Jones

Larry David Jones, 90, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Born on September 28, 1935, in Lavonia, Georgia, he was the beloved father of Michelle Cundiff and Dean Jones.

Larry was born to Leonard and Hatti Jones, and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Manchester High School, and pursued a long career working for Reynolds Metals as a machinist.

Larry raised two children with his late wife, Pauline, in Chesterfield County, going to sporting events, school events, and building things around the house. He worked in the garage on Saturday nights while his children with their friends would play hide and go seek. Larry enjoyed owning and operating two laundromats and playing golf with his friends after he retired.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; and his sister, Evelyn Ouellette. Larry is survived by his daughter, Michelle Cundiff (Layne); his son, Dean Jones (April); sister, Barbara Ashworth; grandkids, Nick Cundiff, Sarah Bright (Cody), Haley Jones, and Dawson Jones; and great-grandson, Joshua Bright.

Outside of work, Larry found joy in coaching sports and doing things with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of being a great father, grandfather, a great-grandfather, and being a great friend to all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment service is private.

Larry David Jones will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
