Larry D. Ellis "Peanut"

Larry Dale Ellis “Peanut”, 72, of Hopewell passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents Emory W. and Jessie Beverly Ellis; brother, Billy Ellis; sister, Patsy Crum; Larry was born on August 30, 1941 in Logan West Virginia and served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Sears & Roebuck after 40 years of service, enjoyed golfing with his golfing buddies, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Ellis; sons, Lawrence Melton, Matthew Ellis, Mark Ellis and his wife Shannon, Britton Ellis and his wife Alexandra; daughters, Angela Crouse and husband Ira, Carla McCall; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; beloved dog Buffy; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday October 13, 2013 at the familys residence 3413 Ivor Street Hopewell, VA, 23860. The family would like to thank the staff at Hopewell Davita Dialysis Center, McGuire’s VA Hospital, and John Randolph Medical Center for their care and compassion.
