Kenneth Ray Phillips

May 28, 1949 — August 10, 2013

Kenneth Ray Phillips, 64, of Prince George, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013. Born in Graceville, Florida, he was the son of the late Samuel and Dovie Phillips. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Ward and Francis James. Kenneth was a proud veteran in the United States Navy and a member of the VFW Post 637 and American Legion Post 146. He worked at Rollings Painting for many years and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and had a passion for grilling. He is survived by his loving wife, Hannelore Phillips; four sons, Kenneth and Nickolas Phillips, Thomas and Timothy Smith; three daughters, Samantha Yancy, Leeann Martin, and Jennifer “Bean” Lewis; brother, Samuel Phillips and his wife, Grace; sister, Winona Lowery; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
