Kendall Carroll Wilmot

July 4, 1992 — June 8, 2013

Kendall Carroll Wilmot of Chester and Blacksburg, Virginia passed peacefully on June 8, 2013. Her family includes: loving mother and father Patty Moore and Ted Wilmot; stepparents Erik Moore and Kathy Wilmot; twin brother Daniel Wilmot; step brother Elliott Moore; step sister Kari Moore; grandparents Judy and Jay Race of Staunton, VA and grandfather Ben Wilmot of Fairfax, VA. Additional family includes Sharon and Stephen Race (Patty’s brother) of Manassas, Bruce Wilmot (Ted’s brother) of Alexandria and Laura and Rich Clement (Ted’s sister) of Fairfax. Loving cousins: Abbey and Lori Race; Jackson, Lee, James and Mollie Clement. She is preceded in death by grandmother Connie Wilmot. Special thanks to the dedication and friendship of Jack Collins. Kendall was the 2010 Hopewell High School Valedictorian and a rising senior in the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech. She was a
member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, HMA Hospitality Management Association, Eta Sigma Delta Honors Hospitality fraternity, and on the dean's list for 3 years. Kendall served on the Student Advisory Committee to the Undergraduate Representatives to the Board of Visitors. She was a true Hokie and proud member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was also a little sister in the Delta Phi Sigma fraternity. She volunteered for several charities and contributed both as a teen counselor and staff member for the Jamestown 4-H Summer Camp. Kendall worked at Swader's Sports Park for 4 years and was doing a summer internship at the Richmond Country Club. She had a passion for nature and animals, always stopping to pet a passing dog.Kendall inspired those around her with her enthusiasm and spirit, always spreading a smile and compassion to others. Kendall proudly signed to be an organ donor so others could celebrate life and would encourage everyone to do so. She will be truly missed by all those lives she touched. A Memorial Service to honor Kendall’s life will be held at Chester Baptist Church, 4317 W. School Street in Chester, VA on Saturday, June 15 at 1 PM. In Hokie spirit, all are welcome to dress casual/jeans and wear Va Tech attire (maroon and orange). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, 3751 4-H Club Road, Williamsburg, VA. 23185 or Chesterfield Animal Shelter, 9300 Public Works Rd. Chesterfield, VA 2383.
