Kay Frances Washburn,72 , of Hopewell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary Muse; and her sisters, Gerlene Frasure, Roberta Baker, Evelyn Norton and Eloise Sellers; and her brothers, Delbert and Edward Muse. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, George A. Washburn; son, George J. Washburn and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Megan and Haley Washburn, Abigail Sweeny (Chris); brothers, Teddy Muse (Rachel) and Gene Muse (Carolyn); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Kay enjoyed bowling, bingo, traveling and going to the movies. Most of all she loved spending time with family and will be greatly missed by those that knew her. A funeral service will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
