Karen E. Watson

Karen Elizabeth Watson, 52, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen retired from Colonial Heights Public Schools after 23 years of dedicated service. Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Gregory and son, Robert “Bert” Watson, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Robert M. Watson, Sr; daughter, Magan R. DeRuiter and husband Richard; brother, Poochie Gregory and wife Lynn; grandsons, Robert S. Watson, Richie and Branden L. DeRuiter; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at Blandford Cemetery, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ray Haskett of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
