Karen Kathleen Tyo Hayes

Karen Kathleen Tyo Hayes, 49, of Dewitt, VA passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born in Ft. Benning, GA she was the daughter of Joan A. Tyo and the late Kenneth Ray Tyo. Mrs. Hayes was Vice-President of Michael’s Textiles in Petersburg for more than 25 years. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Alfred Todd Hayes; two sons, Randall “TJ” Hayes and wife, Brandy and Jeremy W. Hayes; one grandson, Landon Todd Hayes; three sisters, Linda Maitland, Patricia Vaughan and Kelly Tyo; three brothers, Kenneth R. Tyo, Richard L. Tyo and Michael R. Tyo; two extra special friends, Mary Katherine Neville and Patsy Solomon; and numerous nieces, nephews and many many friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Whipple, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
