Karen Beckett Haddock

Karen Beckett Haddock, 85, of Chester, VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love. Born on June 30, 1939, in Belle, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Arnett and Nell Beckett.

Karen dedicated 38 years of her life to teaching and took great pride in being an educator. Her warm heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.

She spent the majority of her life in Chester, Virginia, where she built a home filled with love and memories. In her later years, she resided in North Carolina, to be closer to family.

Karen found joy in the simple things-shopping trips, tending to her garden, relaxing at the beach, and playing beautiful melodies on the piano and organ. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde J. Haddock; her son, Barry Douglas Haddock; her parents; her brother, Arnett "Ray" Beckett; and her sister, Betsy Beckett.

Karen is survived by her loving son, Brian "Scott" Haddock; and her adored granddaughter, Gabriella Faye Haddock. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clyta Beckett; and nephews, Tim and Phillip Beckett.

To honor Karen's vibrant spirit and her love for springtime and flowers, the family kindly asks those attending to wear bright colors and florals.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with interment at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
