June Carolyn May, 74, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Born in Chesterfield County, Va., she was the daughter of the late David Green Walker and Jettie Mae Whittington Walker and was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence; sister, Margaret; daughter, Stephanie; sons, Charles Ashley, and Michael “Mike”. June was the chapter Queen of Hatastrophes of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed traveling with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She would light up a room with her smile and outgoing personality “and if she didn’t she would leave the room and come back in.” Mrs. May is survived by her husband, Victor; children, Vicki, Paul, James and his wife, Debbie, Karen and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Cindy, Samantha and her husband, Cody, Jennifer and her husband, Zeb, and Joshua; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe and his wife, A. J., Allan and his wife, Teri; sister, Linda and her husband, Michael; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
