Julie Jonell Tomlin, 81, passed away December 24, 2025. She was born on January 27, 1944, in Alabama, to late the Edward Potora and Mary Freeman Potora; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar James Tomlin; son, James E. Tomlin; brother, Edward "Skip" Potora, Jr.; sister, Elizabeth "Becky" Potora; and her beloved four-legged friend, Precious.

Mrs. Tomlin is survived by her two sons, Michael W. Tomlin and Jesse A. Tomlin (Jenna); grandchildren, Julie D. Tomlin (who she raised as a daughter), Jordan A. Tomlin (Elizabeth), Ezra W. Tomlin, Silas A. Tomlin, and Lucy P. Tomlin; and two great-grandchildren, Carmino & Kylo.

While living in Virginia, Julie attended Calvary's Love Ministries in Hopewell. She had a love for children which was evident through her work with daycares, most recently at River's Bend Children's Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse or your local food bank.
