Judith Goodman Sears, 61, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Jackson Goodman; her brothers, Jack Goodman and Julian Goodman; and her sister, Janice Goodman Burton.

Judy earned her Associate's Degree from Richard Bland College before continuing her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Throughout her career, she worked for James River Corporation, Riverside Logistics, and Abilene Trucking.

A faithful member of Southside Nazarene Church for many years, Judy was devoted to serving her church community. She led Vacation Bible School for numerous years and volunteered with the Wednesday night children's ministry. She also dedicated her time to organizing activities and reunions for the Prince George High School Class of 1983.

Judy cherished spending time with her family and especially enjoyed vacations to Myrtle Beach and the Smokey Mountains. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who found great joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in their many activities, including cheerleading, swimming, wrestling, and soccer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, James T. Sears III; her daughters, Morgan McDaniel (Austin), Savannah Goulder (Andrew), and Jadyn Sears; her son, Jake Sears (Kassie); her grandsons, Brandt McDaniel, Ender Sears, and Tress Sears; her granddaughter, Blake McDaniel; her mother, Doris Evelyn Gass; her brothers, Jimmy Goodman (Diane), Johny Goodman (Yvonne), Juan Goodman (Toni), and Joe Goodman (Trudy); her sister, Jean Gillespie; and her brother-in-law, Roland Burton.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
