Judith Aufdermarsh Recher

Judith "Judy" Aufdermarsh Recher, 89, of Chesterfield, VA, died December 10, 2025, after a long illness. Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Alice Aufdermarsh. She was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Robert. Judy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ronald; and children, Alisa (Rick) Hogsett, Sharon (Chris) Hoover, and Randy Recher. She is survived by eight beloved grandchildren, Adam Hogsett, Drew (Alysha) Hogsett, Matt (Sarah) Hogsett, Aaron (Rachel) Hoover, Elise Hoover, Kayla (Josh) Wallace, Ryan (Amanda) Recher, and Alex Recher; as well as, twelve beautiful great-grandchildren with the thirteenth due any day. A 1959 graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Judy spent 40 years as an ICU nurse, and after retirement, as a hospice nurse. As an Army wife, Judy supported Ron in all of his moves and deployments. Judy was an active member at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church, the American Needlepoint Guild, and Crater Community Hospice. Judy loved travel, animals, needlework, gardening, and volunteer work.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice.
