Jr., O. Bodin

Erik Olof Bodin, Jr., 77, of Hopewell passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011. He was the son of the late Erik Olof Bodin, Sr. and Alice Bodin. Erik served his country in the U.S. Navy for six months and the U.S. Army for 18 years where he served tours in Vietnam and Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Purple Heart. After retiring from the service Erik was a Civil Service employee who retired after 13 years of employment. Mr. Bodin is survived by his wife, Viola Smith Bodin; son, Erik Olof Bodin, III and his wife, Susan; daughter, Victoria Bodin; grandson, PFC Christopher Erik Bodin and wife, Sarah; sister, Lorna Fitzgerald and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
